How should you choose an engagement or proposal ring?
Set a comfortable total budget, choose a certified diamond with strong cut quality, then select a setting that suits the wearer's style and daily routine. Proposal ring and engagement ring describe the same pre-wedding ring; a wedding ring is the band exchanged at the ceremony.

Our Process →Engagement ring, proposal ring and wedding ring: what is the difference?
An engagement or proposal ring normally features a centre diamond and is given when proposing. Wedding rings are exchanged during the wedding and are usually designed for everyday wear, either alone or beside the engagement ring.
Plan the complete ring budget
Budget for both the loose diamond and the setting. Cut quality usually has the greatest impact on sparkle; colour and clarity can then be balanced against carat weight. Natural diamonds prioritise geological rarity, while lab-grown diamonds can provide more visible size within the same budget.
Choose in the right order
Compare certified diamonds first, shortlist a solitaire, halo or side-stone setting, confirm the ring size and production time, then review resizing and aftercare before ordering.
Engagement ring questions
Should I choose the diamond or setting first?
Choose the diamond first because it normally represents most of the budget. Once its shape and measurements are known, you can select a setting that fits it correctly.
How early should I order a proposal ring?
Allow at least two weeks for normal selection, setting and final checks, and longer for a fully custom design. Confirm the current lead time before fixing the proposal date.
